École Saint-Valéry

Private Primary School in Saint-Émilion

  • Located in the heart of the UNESCO village of Saint-Emilion, surrounded by vineyards, the private primary school Saint-Valéry is hidden away behind the ancient stone walls in the centre of the village, recognisable only by its distinctive red door.

Behind these ancient walls, you’ll find two tree-lined courtyards where the sound of children’s laughter can be heard, surrounded by five classrooms separated into the Maternelle (Pre-School) and Primary (Elementary) buildings.

Founded in 1919 in a village that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Saint-Valéry has served many generations of the ‘Saint Emilionnais’ community, including local winemakers and families who continue to thrive at the school today.

Former pupils, now parents themselves, take pleasure each day as the end-of-school-bell rings, to say hello and exchange precious moments with past teachers, peers and friends.

Saint-Valéry Primary School provides students and families alike with a warm and friendly, welcoming environment where students can flourish. With the strong heritage of the local “vignerons” families, combined with new families, as well as international families, it is the perfect school for children to discover their early years of education.
